Filter sponges have a long, but not an unlimited service life.

After several rinses, it becomes harder to remove all the dirt and this leads to water pollution. That’s why the filter sponges need to be removed from time to time (it is, unfortunately, impossible to state how often). As a rule: rinse 10 times, then replace.

The large-pored pad serves as mechanical large-area pre-filter material for the upper part of the Combi filter. Due to the T-profile cut it reliably catches large Dirt Particles at optimum flow capacity. This way the biological filter materials underneath are protected against unnecessary soiling. The fine-pored pad in the lower part catches any dirt particles which could damage the pump while filtering biologically.
