How are you all doing today? I’m doing well today.
I am going to give you more tips on saving money on your grocery bill (they will be around Meal planning like they were yesterday).
Here we go:
- Make simple meals. Don’t create meals that require a million ingredients. They usually will cost you more money per serving. For example, grilled chicken with a veggie side will be cheaper than lasagna would be.
- Plan meals based on your schedule. If you plan on having an extremely busy night one night this week don’t do a meal that requires a lot of cooking time. It will frustrate you and want you to go order takeout from a restaurant. If you have a busy night, I would recommend you do a sandwich night. It’s easy to put sandwiches together.
- Have a leftover night. It’s easy to do because you won’t have to cook anything. All you have to do is heat the food up and eat it. It’s also a good idea if you like eating at the all you can eat buffets (it’s a whole lot cheaper than an all you can eat buffet). Plus, food you already paid for is not going to waste.
- Do a crock pot meal. In most crock pot meals all you have to do is put the ingredients in the pot; go on with your day; and once it’s dinner time, you will have a nice meal ready for you to eat. (This technique is usually called dump cooking. I will explain that more to you in a later post).
- Try cooking all of your meals once a week. Some days we will get in a rut and not want to cook anything. Because of that we will be tempted to go eat out somewhere. Instead of doing that, having already made meals in your refrigerator or freezer to heat up will be cheaper than eating out (and quicker and easier as well).
