Black Friday Winning Strategy

Black Friday is almost here, that day that people wait for from 1 year to another to go gaga over Shopping which thanks to retailer moved from 1 day, to a complete season. As we are few days away from November, we will start seeing Black Friday 2017 rolling off as soon as November 1st, and will continue to intensify as we get closer to the week of November 26th. So, before you start running to the stores, or go gaga shopping online, make sure to leverage the following tips :

1 – Put Together a shopping list

So, you know what you want to buy, it is all in your head, well, don’t rush for shopping yet, write your list down and make sure you stick to it. As easy as it sounds, putting together a written list, and sticking to it, is the most important step, most over looked, and usually why people end up buying things that they will never use or even check after the day of purchase. Do it right and start with a list.

2 – Check out the Door buster Ads

Most retailers post those weeks in advance. They have couple of flashy items to get your feet into the door, limited quantity, high discount. Check out if any of those ads contain an item you want, which retailer has the highest discount. Remember you have a good chance to mess that item specially if it is hot. Make sure you have a backup plan ( remember different retailers open in different timing so, you may want to take your shot on the one that open first even if it doesn’t offer the highest sale. Door buster are time consuming deals, so make sure the discount worth it. It is also important to keep in mind many of those deals are not as good as they used to be. You can get similar or better Deal online, so don’t get hung up on the claim of Door buster.

3 – Real Deals start Early, and they start online

Last year, I got best deals online, Amazon and other retailers start weeks earlier offering Black Friday Deals, 2 weeks to black friday, most of of the real deals start rolling until 1 week after black friday. Make sure you check the item you looking to buy on Google Shopping or Bing Shopping to find the lowest rate. Stores like Best Buy has even online Door Buster, so make sure to check those out.

4 – It is okay not to get the deal in Black Friday

Believe it or not some of the best deals start rolling the day after to keep the traffic in, I got most of the tech items on my shopping list the week after Black Friday for unbelievable discounts (70% and up discount). Most of these deals are online through the cyber week.

5 – Avoid Impulsive shopping

One of the things you should watch out with all of these deals rolling in and out, would be impulsive shopping. We all fall for it sometimes, it is way easier to fall for it through the Black Friday season as you seeing all of these deals.

6 – Be Prepared with Alternatives

Lets face it, you will have a hard time getting the items you looking for, some you may not end up with, make sure your shopping list has alternatives, don’t get hang on a given item specially if it is a gift.

7 – Online Shopping : Coupon, CashBack, Price Comparison :

I can’t highlight this enough, you have better chances to score deals online, don’t forget it is easy to apply coupons, compare prices and earn cash back online, online deals go beyond, they start earlier than retailers, and finish last. Best deal I ended up with last year were the one online after Cyber Monday. So make sure to use sites like Google Shopping to compare prices, always use cashback , and don’t forget to apply any coupons.
