It seems that every week another retailer announces a slew of store closings. The latest on the list is Payless Shoe Source, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and will now close about 400 underperforming stores in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, which works out to about 10 percent of all their stores. 

“This is a difficult, but necessary, decision driven by the continued challenges of the retail environment, which will only intensify," said Payless CEO Paul Jones in a statement last week. "We will build a stronger Payless for our customers, vendors and suppliers, associates, business partners and other stakeholders through this process."

This comes after Payless had resolved to close some of its smaller stores last fall and open "Super Stores" to better compete with shoe outlets like DSW. But as the brick and mortar retail space continued to experience lackluster sales through 2017, Payless was forced into a different action.

There are rumors that more store closings will happen for Payless in the future, but for now, here are all the stores which will be closing immediately. It includes 66 stores in Texas, 49 in California, and 22 in New York. Check out this list to see if your favorite location is closing:
