Pet dogs are great for children to cope with Stress

Pet dogs can reduce stress levels in their Children and provide valuable social support, according to a new study. Pets can stimulate conversation, creating an ice-breaker effect that alleviates social anxiety.

Dogs also tend to follow the signs of human communication, which could help in emotional development. You may find it hard to believe when you run through the park after your dog or clean the last jar that has broken. But having a dog at home can significantly reduce the likelihood that your children experience stress and anxiety, a new study has found.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a pet dog can be your child’s ticket to prevent child anxiety and obesity.

Dogs are very active and depend on the breed; most children love. Children aged 7 to 8 have previously classified pets more than humans as providers of comfort, self-esteem, and confidants. The promotion of children’s behavioral and emotional competence can help prevent mental, emotional and behavioral disorders during adulthood.

Exposure to domestic dogs during childhood can help achieve these goals. Positive interactions between the dog and the child could prevent potential problems during development during adolescence or afterlife.

However, there is little evidence that primary care providers use when advising parents about the benefits of small dogs for young children. There is also evidence that having a pet can make children feel more popular and more empathetic.

Both children and dogs likes to play around. It should not be so surprising that dogs can help keep children active and when children are engaged. They are less prone to get depressed.

Research Findings of University of Florida

The researchers recruited about 100 pet owners who came to their university lab with their pet dogs. To take advantage of the stress of children, the children completed a public speaking task and a mental calculation task. Which is known to evoke feelings of anxiety and increase the stress hormone cortisol and simulates the stress of real life in the lives of children. The children were randomly assigned to experience the stress factor with their pet dog for social support, with their parent, or without social support.

Research shows that having a dog present when a child is going through a stressful experience reduces the number of children who feel stressed. Children who have had their pet dogs with them have reported feeling less stressed than having a parent for social support or not having social support. Results found that children with present animals had lower cortisol levels with or without parental social support.

Pet dogs are great for children to cope with Stress.

Mental well-being has linked to physical activity. Today our children are getting less and less the age of technology replacing their generation. Physical activity affects the brain in a positive way. The pet dogs, which by nature are willing to run and walk, help us all to escape from our televisions and computers to be outdoors in the open air.

Many studies have been carried out to help understand how pets are useful in preventing mental illness and obesity in our children. Although some studies show very few differences between children without animals and children with pets, the difference is there.

There is nothing like the unparalleled love of an animal to put things in perspective and make the world a better place.
