What’s this all about?

I’m excited to let you know that Elmer The Patchwork Elephant is coming to our local theatre – Richmond Theatre.  I wanted to give you all a sneak peak of what you can expect with a little preview plus give you a chance to win a lovely afternoon at the theatre to see it!

Who is Elmer anyway?

Elmer the Patchwork Elephant Show is based on the classic children’s book series by David McKee, that celebrates its 30th Birthday this year. It promises to be a fantastic afternoon of merrymaking, a tribute to individuality which will light up your life with the power of laughter!

Expect humour and puppets!

Elephants, as everyone knows, are big, have trunks, and are grey. But Elmer is a patchwork of brilliant colours! His fun-loving and cheerful personality keeps everyone in a playful mood until the day he gets tired of being different and tries to blend in with the herd.

Featuring a menagerie of 21 loveable puppets, Elmer The Patchwork Elephant tells the tale of an elephant that stands out – both with his patchwork-coloured skin and his sense of humour – but ultimately realising that his friends have always valued his unique characteristics.

Just be yourself

The show’s subtle message that it is always best to be yourself – something which I couldn’t get behind more and one that is hugely beneficial for our children. Combined with the vibrant colour and cheeky humour of the main character, this all makes Elmer a great show for children of all ages.

I’m super excited to see it with my daughter and know that like every other production we’ve see at Richmond Theatre (see our writings on Peppa Pig , Guess How Much I Love You and Cirque Berserk!) it will be such a lovely experience for all.

The show dates are Tuesday 5th February at 1pm & 3pm and Wednesday 6th February at 10am & 12pm and can be booked here.
