5 Things All Adults Worry About

Tags: worry adult money

Being an Adult isn’t easy. We might not admit it, but most of us Worry all the time. Why? Being an adult means having responsibilities. It means thinking about the whole world, and not just about ourselves.

When you worry a lot, it’s difficult to imagine other people doing the same. You might think that you’re overreacting or that you’re losing your mind. You aren’t. All adults worry about different things. Here are a few examples of common adulthood worries.

How much does that cost? Can I afford it? Is this the best deal? Everyone worries about Money – even those who have it. Money makes the world go around. Unfortunately, some people have more money worries than others. If you’re struggling to feed yourself and your family, there are several state benefits you may be eligible for, such as veteran’s disability compensation (read up on veterans law for more information) – do your research. While money worries are normal, if you find yourself feeling anxious or stressed about money, you may need to seek additional help.

Your kids

If you’re an adult with kids, you’ll find that you worry about them all the time. It’s normal. No one wants their child to be hurt, unhappy, or in danger. However, it’s important to remember that, as your children grow up, you can’t keep an eye on them all the time. Growing up means becoming more distanced from the people who raised us, and it’s important to respect your children’s privacy. That being said, most adults worry about their kids no matter their age, relationship status or occupation. We’re designed to care.

Some people are more politically-minded than others. But no one is completely unpolitical. We all have our own views and opinions, many of which shape the society that we live in. Worrying about politics is something that we all do on a regular basis, from, “I hate those ugly signs” to “who shall I vote for?” You can’t avoid politics.

Most of us worry about work. The more successful you become, the more responsibility gets thrust upon your shoulders. You’ll be praised if it goes well, but the first to blame if it doesn’t. Worrying about work is totally normal, especially if you’re in a high stress role. However, work isn’t everything. If you’re so anxious, stressed or busy that it stops you from sleeping and enjoying family time, you might need to take a step back and reevaluate.

Our choices

While most of us worry about our personalities, it is our choices that define us. Are we making the right ones? It’s impossible to tell. We can spend days, weeks or even years wondering what if we’d picked the other job or moved to the other street. The key is to trust your gut and believe in yourself. Everything happens for a reason.
