Do you have that moment that defined you, that sent your life down another path… most of us do, even if it isn’t as dramatic as what happened to three high school friends 10 years ago. Letters for Scarlet: A Novel tells the story of those three friends now while slowly revealing what happened on that awful night.

The high school assignment was long forgotten: write a letter to your future self and it will be mailed to you 10 years later. Those letter arrive and cause Corie to look back at what happened and the regrets she has, especially when it comes to her then best friend, Scarlet, whom she hasn’t spoken to since high school. Meanwhile, Scarlet has her own demons to face, wondering if she could ever be a good mom to the child she’s now carrying.

I got swept up in the story that Julie C. Gardner created in Letters for Scarlet. It didn’t surprise me because I’ve been a longtime blog reader of Julie’s and I’ve always admired the rhythmic flow of her words and I was happy to see this in her book, too.

Letters for Scarlet comes out today and you should absolutely read it! It’s $4.99 for the kindle edition or free if you have kindleunlimited.

You can read the prequel, Guest List, for free. (Free as of this posting, regular kindle price is $.99) You don’t have to read it before you read Letters for Scarlet, but you’ll want to and it’s free, so why not? This way, you can spend more time with these characters: they were so real, no one perfect or no one completely to blame- but real.

I was sent a review copy of Letters for Scarlet. Because I asked to read it since I was super excited to get my hands on it. All opinions are my own. Amazon links are affiliate, should you choose to buy these books!
