Have a Cozy Date Night In

Thank you Idahoan® Steakhouse® Soups for sponsoring this post. Treat your SOUP-er significant other to a delicious meal!

In summertime, I’m all for going outside for date nights or day dates. Kayak out on the water or eat dinner on the beach.

But in the wintertime, a cozy date night in sounds perfect. Staying out of the cold weather, wearing warm clothes, and snuggling under blankets. Watch a movie or play a board game.

No need to worry about the weather and no scheduling a babysitter.

Simple, budget-friendly, and still a good time.

Dinner can be easy but also delicious.

You really can’t go wrong with a simple Soup and salad. Grab a bagged salad and whatever extras you want. The secret to having a restaurant-like salad at home is to make sure you chop the salad into small pieces and then season it. Sprinkle with garlic powder and basil. Something so easy like that makes a big difference, taste-wise.

Idahoan® Steakhouse® Soups give you the flavorful, slow-cooked taste of restaurant-quality soup at home, in just five minutes. They taste like you put a lot of effort into your date night dinner, when all you actually have to do is add water. Idahoan Steakhouse Soups are available in four delicious varieties: Loaded Potato, Creamy Potato, Cheddar Broccoli and Cheddar Potato. They’re a perfect comfort food. You can learn more about them here: Steakhouse Soups.

A slowcooker dessert is the perfect finish to an at home date night meal since it doesn’t require you to actually pay too much attention to the timing. It can be ready when you are. I like to call this dessert an Easy Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake. It’s what’s known as a “dump cake” but since that has to be the most unromantic name for a cake ever created, let’s go with an Easy Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake or a slowcooker cake or even just warm strawberry yumminess.

Empty 2 21 oz cans strawberry pie filling into the bottom of your slowcooker. Top with 1 box (approximately 15oz) strawberry cake mix. Pour 1/2 cup melted butter over top. Put the lid on and then set to high for two hours or low for 4. Leave on warm until ready to serve. Dish out individual servings and top with hot fudge and whipped cream.

Simple meal but very filling and comforting, perfect for this dreary winter weather and special enough for a cozy date night in.
