phil&teds Voyager Stroller Video Review

Out of the box, parents need to pop on the wheels, mud covers and seat(s) and you are ready to go.

From birth the stroller can be used with an infant seat, with the stroller seat in the flat lying position or with the seat converted into the bassinet.   I am a big fan of strollers that convert into bassinets because it offers parents a variety of options while out with their baby.

The bassinet on the Voyager can be transformed quickly by unclipping the strap under the front of the seat, and unzipping the back of the seat.  This configuration offers a sleeping baby a flat laying spot for a better sleep.  phil&teds also includes a soft liner to give your baby more comfort while out.

When in regular seat mode, the stroller has a 3 position, 5-point harness that can be adjusted to 4 different heights.  Different from any stroller we’ve tested, the seat recline lever is at the top of the seat.  It takes a bit to get used to but, once you do, it’s more convenient.   It can also be reversed to face you or face out.

The canopy on the main seat is a very generous 4 panel hood that provides excellent coverage for little ones.  It has a peekaboo window with a magnetic closure and a pocket on the side for quick storage.

As kids get older there is a large foot rest that was designed with slotted spots to allow the snow or sand escape without going into your storage basket.

The second seat on the Voyager is rated for kids birth to 40lbs.  Just like the main seat it has a 3 position, 5-point harness that can be adjusted to 4 different heights. It can also be converted into a bassinet for a newborn or parents of twins. In this spot parents can also dock an infant seat as well.

During our test we found that parents who want to use the stroller’s main seat as a bassinet while using the second seat must have the bassinet rear facing or there isn’t enough clearance for the second child to sit unless they are extremely reclined.

Because this seat does sit in the storage basket, your space there is reduced.  Thankfully phil&teds designed the basket so that it is generous, and also accessible from the front.  So even while strolling with a child in the second seat we were able to get our diaper bag and some shopping bags in the basket without having a dragging or overflowing issue.  The company says it can hold a whopping 22lbs!

To give its stroller a smooth and responsive push phil&teds uses 12″ Aeromaxx puncture-free tires on the back and 8″ on the front.  There are mud covers on the back to prevent your little one from getting splashed on a rainy day or reaching over to touch the wheels.

The break is conveniently located on the handle so parents don’t have to fumble around looking for the foot lever.

To accommodate the second seat phil&teds has designed the handle of the stroller to extend out, which ensures that you don’t kick the frame or seat while out. It pivots to 8 different height positions starting at about 47.5″.

One of the coolest features about the Voyager is that it folds up with both seats!  This is HUGE and it’s easy to do.  First you must have both seats in stroller seat mode.  Next, the lower half of each seat must be folded in, and the second seat folded down towards the bottom of the basket.

Press the lever on the side of the main seat, lift up the bar underneath the main seat and the whole unit folds together and locks.

I can’t tell you how much I love this.  Nothing is worst than getting stuck in bad weather and having to dismantle your stroller before being able to have to load it into your vehicle.  The “>phil&teds Voyager definitely takes the stress out of travel.

Its inline configuration keep the stroller’s footprint to a minimum, while being able to transport 2 kids.  Having the seat at the back also gives parents more maneuverability – a feature that is must when you are navigating busy malls or attractions!
