More and more couples are deciding to wait before they start their families. People make this decision for different reasons. We had our son, a first child for both of us, when my husband was 52 and I was a month shy of 38. We did not set out to be older parents, but as my due date approached, we found ourselves talking more and more about the benefits that it gave both us and our future child. Since our son’s birth, we’ve only been proven right. This blog discusses some of the realizations we’ve made, and offers for your consideration some of the reasons we would suggest to anyone who may one day want a family that they should be an older parent.
