I’m one of the few women who are not proactive when it comes to facial enhancements. Don’t get me wrong. I’m fond of seeing myself all dolled up, but it’s just that I’m too lazy to do all those make-up, Cream application, eyebrow plucking shiz that millennial ladies like me are so busy with. I’m soooo lazy that my sister-in-law had to include a make-up tutorial for me during my bridal shower. Haha!
When I got pregnant, however, my views on facial care/beauty routines changed a bit. When I was pregnant with Tash, I loved looking at everything pretty and nice and fresh. It could be due to hormonal changes or the theory that when you’re carrying a baby girl, you want to look at pretty things. I hated looking at the mirror to see my gloomy face with dark spots and dull skin.
So though I was naturally lazy when it comes to following a beauty regimen, I found myself slowly using (since I was preggy then, all-natural was a must) basic facial products. When I say ‘basic’, I mean facial wash, toner, moisturizer. Anything other than those three was alien to me.
Fast forward to Mommy days!
During the Unmother’s Day event at Eastwood City I was blessed enough to receive a special Mother’s Day gift. My special gift bag included a jar of Pond’s Age Miracle Dual Action Eye Cream. My eyes twinkled in excitement. Though I was elated to finally have an eye cream, I couldn’t help but wonder, “What am I gonna do with this?”
Despite having read a lot of social media posts on the importance of using eye creams, my clueless 30-something self googled this dual action eye cream and patiently read on what makes it essential and how to use it.
Thanks to Spot.ph’s quick intro. I found out that the pink cream should be applied on the upper eye “to fight wrinkles and lines for a smoother, lifted look”, while the white cream must be applied on the under-eye to “reduce puffiness and dark circles”. So like an authentic eye cream noob, I followed just as instructed.
Even if I’m a first-time eye cream user, I like this eye cream because my face doesn’t become oily or sticky after application. Plus, its neutral scent also deserves a thumbs up since I hate creams/lotion/ointment that have strong smell!
My mother’s day gift bag also included a jar of Pond’s Age Miracle Deep Action Night Cream, which is specially formulated to work while we sleep. They say that while sleeping, our cells’ regeneration potential is at its finest. This product aims to reduce the appearance of spots and wrinkles and improve overall skin glow.
For a month now, I’ve been sticking to a simple beauty regimen like a real thirty something. Finally! I’m happy with my first eye cream and night cream ever!
I’m not sure if the eye cream’s magic is already working (let’s wait for a few more months).
What I’m sure of is that taking (extra) care of my physical self makes me feel refreshed after a long day. We owe ourselves pamper time, mommies!
