How to Get Kids Involved in Making Frosted Caramel-apple Tea

One of the main ingredients in this recipe is applesauce, something that just about every kid I know enjoys. While you can opt in to use store-bought applesauce, may I suggest that you try making your own. It’s super easy and something kids would love to take part in!

All you need are peeled, cored, and chopped apples. Golden Delicious and Fuji work best because they are of the softer type. However, you can McIntosh’s work well too. If you’d like to add an extra dose of vitamins, keep the skin on while your making the sauce.

Once you have your apples ready for cooking, cook them in a large saucepan until the apples are soft. If you want a walk-away method, consider using the crockpot on low for 3 hours. The Instant Pot is another great and quick option too (see your IP manual to check recipe settings information). After they’ve reach the desired consistency, mash them until you get the sauce you prefer.

The recipe calls for applesauce ice cubes, so consider letting your kids fill up a few ice trays once the applesauce is made. Then, you’ll have them ready for when you want to make this yummy recipe!

You’re already get lots of vitamins and nutrients from the apples, but there’s another ingredient that will give you protein – Lean Vegan Protein Powder. In addition to supporting gut and digestive health with prebiotic fiber and digestive enzymes, this protein powder also helps support and maintain lean muscle. This is a must-have ingredient you’ll want to make sure to add to your frosted caramel-apple tea.
