The New Year is a great time to make positive changes to your life. You can live happier with the fresh start of 2018. Begin thinking about the ways you hope to live differently now, so you can start 2018 off on the right foot!
7 Tips to Starting your 2018 off on the Right Foot
1. Declutter your home.
Starting off with a more organized home gives you a positive outlook. Go through closets as well as your attic, garage, or basement. Consider donating unused items to the Salvation Army or other charities before the end of this year – for a tax deduction!
2. Declutter your life.
Think about everything you have going on. Where can you trim down your responsibilities? Don’t go into the new year overwhelmed and stressed. Cull the number of things you have to do so you have more time for your priorities.
3. Begin saying “NO.”
It’s okay to turn down the opportunity for a lunch date, new leadership position, or more work in your job. Learning to say no now will ensure your 2018 isn’t overbooked.
4. Improve your relationships.
If you have guilt or anger over something that happened in the past, try to let it go for your own happiness. Forgive those who have done you wrong. Work on fostering good relationships.
5. Assess your health.
Are there healthy living goals you need to set and work toward in 2018? Start deciding now what you want to accomplish. Maybe you want to lose weight or exercise more. Maybe you need to try getting more sleep. Figuring out a plan for your goals now will allow you to start 2018 off on the right foot!
6. Evaluate your finances.
Did you overspend in a certain area this year? Make decisions on where you can cut back so you can pay off debts, save money, or travel more in 2018. Just make sure the changes you make in your budget align with the goals you have for the new year!
7. Challenge yourself.
Make 2018 the year that you try new things! Think about something you have wanted to accomplish but haven’t gotten around to it. A new year is a perfect time to reach for your dreams. Maybe you want a better job, or to be more outgoing and make new friends.
