The year 2017 witnessed the biggest and the most anticipated wedding on December 11 as Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma tied the knot in a private ceremony in Tuscany, Italy. The couple officially announced the news on social media late on Monday night, ending days of suspense and fevered speculation by the media.

“Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans & well-wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey,” Anushka and Virat wrote on their respective social media accounts alongside pictures of the wedding ceremony.

While Anushka looks drop-dead gorgeous in an intricate pale pink lehenga designed by ace designer Sabyasachi, Virat is the most handsome groom ever in his ivory raw silk sherwani hand-embroidered in a vintage Benarasi pattern. His attire was also designed by Sabyasachi.

Now, if reports are to be believed, the couple had left Tuscany on Tuesday for a Roman honeymoon. Yes, you read it right. The newlyweds will enjoy their honeymoon in Rome. 

The two will then travel to South Africa where Virat will start prepping for the upcoming series and Anushka will spend New Year’s Eve with him and return in the first week of January to begin the next schedule of Anand L Rai’s film with Shah Rukh Khan in Mumbai. She will also start prepping for Sui Dhaaga as the shooting for the same starts in February 2018 with Varun Dhawan. Anushka will also be busy with the marketing and promotions of Pari which is releasing on 9th February.
