Author Shed Simove spent eight years writing his first two books but after achieving only modest sales he turned to London PR to help promote his next idea – a Book containing 196 blank pages.
It took him only minutes to write yet What Every Man Thinks About Apart From Sex went on to out sell both his previous works combined – and then some.
We were able to win coverage for the book in national newspapers and on ITV’s Lorraine programme. As the book started to move up Amazon’s charts we followed up with a secondary story about how an empty book was outselling both JK Rowling and Dan Brown.
Eventually the book reached number 1 in its Amazon category and was even in the top 50 for all books – not bad for a book without a single word between the covers.
Amazingly our campaign even came to the notice of those wonderful people at the Guinness Book of Records who awarded author Shed a World Record certificate for the published book with the most blank pages.
Shed was kind enough to share his success with us, sending us a framed copy of the book and World Record certificate. He wrote: “To the talented team at London PR. Thanks so much for making this happen!”
