It’s your problem if you are giving up on 2020, but….
Giving up on 2020 is an issue a lot of people are having, and they are going crazy right now. What a year! Starting up with a world economy slowing down, and then Coronavirus hits in with all its power.
Within a couple of days, half the year comes to an end, and many are already planning for 2021. Can you see the opportunity?
It’s like surrender before the war is over. What is for sure is that the soldiers going home will not win the war.
So, giving up on 2020 shouldn’t even be an alternative for you. The first thing to do is to recognize that the world you see right now, you have never seen before. No-one else has seen it. An example is that no country in the world actually knows which is the best way to handle the Pandemic. The future will tell us who was wrong and who used the correct strategy.
The Nobel Prize winner in chemistry, 2013, Michael Levitt, recently said:
“There is no doubt in my mind that when we come to look back on this, the damage done by lockdown will exceed any saving of lives by a huge factor.”
Waiting for the future result on what is right and what is wrong, you need to act on your personal Situation.
With a world literally up-side-down, there are plenty of opportunities out there, people do not even know about. Again, because this situation is unique in many ways.
Giving Up On 2020 Should Not be a Choice
As you can read in my articles published the last months, we are talking about a scenario where you need to do five things:
- Accept what is happening
- Making a S.W.O.T. analysis of the current situation
- Grab one or a few opportunities you’ll get from your S.W.O.T.
- Make a plan
- Start working!
People giving up on 2020, are typically those who are accustomed to a specific pattern. As everything is undergoing a change, they feel uncomfortable by not finding their old path. They throw in the towel, giving the pandemic as an explanation to their behavior.
Let’s dive into the shaking world and see what we can find that fits into your opportunity plan.

Join the other side….
Most people connected to the Internet has bought something online. Statistics show that online purchases are increasing tremendously due to the pandemic. Now more people are trying to join the other side of the business as well. Further, many have used their “stay-home” time to check out what alternatives exist.

A new and different approach
Now let’s take a different approach. What if it isn’t too late to make 2020 your best year ever? Stop for a while to only view the problems, but focus on the opportunities.
What if instead of giving up on 2020, this year, you will take a new and completely different approach. These crazy Coronavirus months are also giving you an amazing opportunity to examine every area of your life. If you do that, you can start focusing on things that really matter to you.
Life has been extremely accelerated during many, many years. Coronavirus comes like a break. It’s like a voice somewhere saying:
STOP! What the heck are you doing with your life?
In that context, giving up on 2020 is like surrender, lay down, and die.
When you make a self-analysis of your life and what you would like to do from here and onwards, being independent and not relying on anybody else but yourself could be the answer your inner feeling delivers.
To get there in this new unpredictable world will be a journey to make. If you become the supreme commander in charge of your life, the chances to reach your goal will improve, because you decide the direction and the pace to go.
