Why Friday The 13th Will Be Your Lucky Day

To make Friday the 13th to a lucky day depends on one single thing

It’s Friday the 13th, and for many, the most superstitious day they can think of. Why is this day considered to be the unluckiest day? There are many theories behind, but here are some facts about this day of ill-repute.

Some believe that Friday the 13th has a biblical origin. Jesus was crucified on a Friday, and the Last Supper the evening before the crucifixion was attended by 13 people, where Judas was number 13.

Another interesting observation is that Paraskevidekatriaphobia (try to repeat that word three times), probably is the most common superstition in the U.S. Paraskevidekatriaphobia is Greek, where Paraskevi stands for Friday and Dekatreis means 13.

A report in the prestigious magazine British Medical Journal, reveals some incredible figures. According to the report, on a Friday 13th, “The risk of hospital admission as a result of a transport accident may increase by as much as 52%.”

Digging into more Friday the 13th disasters, take a look at the following:

On Friday the 13th, 2015, the middle third of Star Wars: The Force Awakens was deleted accidentally and permanently when a film editor felt down on the delete button due to an ill-timed sneeze.

On Wednesday 11th, in January 1992, Justin Bartlett got a reprieve, moments before his execution. Two days later, on Friday the 13th, he dies due to food poisoning incurring during his last meal.

To add some extra pepper to the beef, according to some sources, the global economy is losing $800 million on every Friday the 13th.

Next time you enter an elevator, check out if the button for floor number 13 is there or not.

Can Friday The 13th Be A Lucky Day?

In some countries, like Italy and China, 13 is actually a number of good luck.

Looking around, you will find plenty of events where number 13 represents good luck:

Colgate University – founded by 13 men, with 13 dollars, 13 prayers, and 13 articles.

Playing cards – there are four suits, each of 13 ranks.

Social media sites – on many sites 13 is the minimum age to be allowed to create an

account.

The United States – the country was created from 13 colonies. The first flag had 13 stripes and 13 stars.

Independent online entrepreneur – in September 2013, I took a crucial decision to go all in and become an independent online entrepreneur and marketer. Yes, you guess it right. It was on Friday the 13th of September 2013.

To make Friday the 13th to a lucky day or not, follows the same pattern you apply when it comes to the Monday syndrome. It can be a horrible day but also the best day of the week.

Your Luck On Friday The 13th Depends On One Single Thing

It’s a fun exercise to read about all mystery created around a particular weekday and date. As humans, sometimes we need to escape from the automated and emotionless daily lifestyle.

That’s the reason we surround ourselves with emotions like:

  • Fear
  • Sadness
  • Joy
  • Anger
  • Trust
  • Anticipation
  • Faith

These emotional feelings are based on your personality. Some people easily get influenced by their surroundings, while others handle the emotions in another way.

Whatever category you belong to, it’s vital that you manage your emotions and not the other way around. When you control your emotions, they can even be to your advantage.

When starting my online business 6 years ago, all the emotions listed above went through my mind before “taking the step.” Of course, there was a portion of Fear and Anticipation, but fortunately, Joy and Trust got me into this lifechanging challenge.

If you can relate to my story, maybe you are there right now, or you are thinking about it, let this Friday the 13th be a figurative day for you. Let this day be the day when you decide without the interference of emotions and ney-sayers around you.

In spite of all stories and fairy-tales around Friday the 13th, if today is going to be a lucky day only depends on one single thing:

You!!!
