These posts will help you build a good solid foundation for what we will show you in this post.
1. Set Up Bitly
- how many clicks has that link produced
- which country have the clicks come from
- which platform have the clicks come from (Facebook, Twitter, email, apps etc)
All of this data is crucial for Lead Generation. So go on and set up your Bitly account. (Once you’ve set up your account, you can simply sign in with your Twitter account.)
2. How To Get More Clicks On Your Tweets
There is a science to tweeting. Check out this report from Hubspot’s Dan Zarrella who analysed over 200,000 tweets and pulled some amazing data for what works when writing tweets.
Specifically Zarrella’s report shows you how to get more clicks on your tweets. Remember from the foundational reading we asked you to do at the top of this post, that you are going to be sharing your content – blog posts, videos, eBooks, landing pages etc. All of these will have their own URLs. We want to get as many clicks on these links as possible.
Here’s the main points you need to know about when you write your tweets:
- Put the link a quarter of the way through
Most of us put the link at the end of the tweet. However Zarrella’s data shows that the majority of clicks happen when the link is placed about 25% of the way in the tweet.
- Write tweets between 120-130 characters
So many people think that 140 characters isn’t enough! But Zarrella’s report shows that tweets between 120-130 characters long get more clicks.
- Tweet a link at least once per hour
There can be a temptation to go over board and tweet so many links close together. But the data shows that one an hour gets you the most clicks.
3. Where Are You Taking Them?
OK, so you’ve got some awesome content, you’ve crafted some compelling tweets and people are clicking your links.
Where are you taking them?
Remember, we’re trying to generate leads.
Ideally you want to take your customers to your website. This is where the magic happens. Everything you do online should have the goal of taking people to your website.
You can’t buy on Twitter. You have to take them to your website where people can contact, buy, download, enquire, follow etc.
Now here’s the part where most law firm’s fall down. You have to ensure that your website is set up for lead generation.
- Is your contact info easy to find on every page?
- Do you have lead generation forms?
- Do you have your law firm’s phone number on every page?
- Are there enquiry forms clearly visible?
These are just a few of the most basic things you need for lead generation.
BONUS: Free WordPress Plugins For Law Firm’s With WordPress Websites:
Here are some WordPress plugins that are great for lead generation:
HelloBar is a great plugin that can potentially boost your email subscribers in a massive way.
Notice that on our website we have gone with a contrasting colour to the rest of the site. Most of the Marketing-Savvy Lawyers website is red and white. Therefore a blue banner will pop out and grab the customer’s attention.
HelloBar can also easily integrate with email marketing providers like MailChimp. So when someone signs up through HelloBar, it will automatically be put into your MailChimp database.
- Dreamgrow Scroll Triggered Box
Dreamgrow Scroll Triggered Box is a brilliant plugin which has helped many sites boost their leads.
You can set the pop up box to appear when the customer scrolls down your screen or hovers over part of the page. We have ours set to pop up from the bottom right hand corner when the customer scrolls down 30% of the page (as you can see from the graphic).
Again the colour of the boz is slightly contrasting to the rest of the site, therefore it catches the reader’s attention and will more likely generate leads.
By combining these two plugins and techniques, you will be able to generate more leads when your customers come to your website.
