Colorado Hippies

The Colorado Hippie is a unique subculture, born in Weld County, Colorado. While many Hippies were just individuals looking for peace and serenity, the Colorado Hippies is a unique subculture that fused several aspects of other cultural groups into a counterculture. Most importantly, they were simply in tune with their environment and had no problem called "hippies." Here are some of the things that make the Colorado Hippie differs from other types of hippies.

Colorado Hippies were very much in tune with the world around them, and this was one of the major differences between Colorado Hippies and other types of Colorado Hippie subcultures. Unlike other Colorado Hippies, this hippie group was more interested in the music than in flower power symbols. They supported marijuana but didn't believe it was an evil thing and believed it helped people relax and get away from stress. Colorado Hippies also did not believe in Christianity, as they saw it as a tool of oppression. This is why Denver has many counter-culture churches, as many people look to these churches for spiritual guidance and find their inner peace.

There is no denying that Colorado Hippies was slightly different than other American subcultures at the time. On any given day in Denver, you could easily find hundreds of people on the streets, drinking and making silly jokes. At the height of the boggsville era, you would find the hippies at the dances, bazaar, and pool parties. However, as time went by, the Colorado Hippie movement declined as other Americans became fascinated with drugs and alcohol. Eventually, the Hippie culture faded completely in the 1970s.

The hippies of yesteryear, though, did have a unique way of dealing with social problems. Colorado Hippies would set up communes, where they would go and commune with nature. They would help each other to stay away from drugs and alcohol and try to understand one another. The result was a counterculture, with people calling themselves Hippies.

In the early days of the movement, Denver was critical to the Hippie cause. Many people called themselves Hippies because Denver was famous for having free music and free concerts at the Audubon Society building. Also, at the time, many artists were coming out of Colorado to become famous such as Robert Rauschenberg, Paul Simon, Sonic Youth, and Neil Young. It was a home for a lot of great artists.

Today, Denver, CO, is home to a new generation of Hippies. Instead of wearing hippie clothing, these people wear biker t-shirts and long pants. Although they are not called hippies by most people anymore, they still love the old hippie culture. For example, at a bike rally, you would see long, green chains sticking out of the back of each bike. Bikers also like to wear many patches on their clothes, representing their political beliefs and lifestyle choices.

The media, in particular television, has played a big part in creating a negative image of the Hippie culture. Most famous was a famous TV personality, Jerry Seinfeld, who said he would vote for Obama over John McCain because he is more like a hippie. This caused a lot of people to misjudge hippies. People were made to believe that hippies were hippies because they wore some funny-looking clothes. This stereotype was reinforced by many movies and by popular culture itself.

Today, people are starting to come around to the fact that Hippies are just regular people. They have their own culture, and they do it through festivals and music. It is no longer a big deal to be a Hippie. They are just coming to terms with who they really are.
