HTC One A9HTC is planning to release another handset in 2015. HTC chair and CEO Cher Wang has confirmed that there will be a new "hero product" launched in the smartphone category in October 2015. This phone is codenamed Aero, or Hima Aero, and will launch under the name HTC One A9. An event has been scheduled for 20 October so we expect to see an official announcement then.
Although it has been described as "hero", many of the specs suggest that it's hero in its slim design, rather than in its hardware. It has been suggested it will measure 7mm thick and come in six colours. There have been several reports surrounding the specs, all of which contradict each other. The Qualcomm SD820 has been suggested, as has the MediaTek Helio X20 10-core processor and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset.
A 3500mAh battery has been reported but so has a 2150mAh battery. In terms of display, we have seen claims of a Quad HD display, as well as a 5-inch Full HD display so nothing is clear here either. One thing that seems to be a little more certain is the software after HTC said it would be the first to launch a device running Android 6.0 Marshmallow after it announced the 20 October launch date.
