Like most businesses, SoPro is officially Working From Home

Whilst there can be benefits to working from home, many will still miss the social aspects of the office. The shared treats, the Coffee breaks, the conversation.

So we’re swapping face-time for FaceTime, and utilising video technology wherever possible.

Social distancing has, temporarily, changed the way many of us live our lives. Right now, keeping-in-touch with friends and colleagues is as important as it’s ever been, perhaps more so. It’s good for business, and it’s good for our mental health, too.

Virtual Coffee Break

That’s why yesterday we held our first Virtual Coffee Break. Our Brighton and Skopje offices fired up their webcams and took ten minutes to catch up.

On the call we shared self-isolation good news stories, and we heard about random acts of kindness happening in our communities. Katie McIntyre, Client Services Executive in our Brighton office shared a note that had landed on her doormat. It advertised a local aid group. “When the note came through it helped me see that there are people who are in a worse situation than me and that I should count myself lucky as my family are safe and well.” It inspired Katie to join the group herself and help where she can.

Elena Kostovska, Talent Acquisition and Development Executive in our Skopje office suggested that everyone should keep to their usual daily schedule and to keep to a routine. This could mean always getting ready for work even though you’re not leaving the house.

The general feedback to our Virtual Coffee Break was overwhelmingly positive so we’ve decided to do them more regularly. We’ve even arranged a Virtual Pub Quiz for Thursday evening!

At SoPro we’ve made a commitment to help our clients and to help one another. We realise the world is a scary place at the moment, but simple acts of kindness, and checking in on each other can make a huge difference.
