If your favourite small business has an online store then consider choosing these for your Christmas shopping this year rather than huge retailers such as Amazon. As many small businesses have needed to invest in ecommerce whilst their stores are closed, your order would go a long way to supporting them, no matter how big or small.

One of the simplest ways to support a small business is by following or liking their page on social media. As well as this, engaging with their posts by liking or writing a positive comment costs absolutely nothing, but really helps to support their business. Sharing and reposting their content will also help to expand their reach, and get their product in front of a new audience.
Leave a review
According to Search Engine Land, 87% of potential customers won’t consider businesses with low ratings, so help your favourite small businesses out by writing a positive Review of your experience with them. Share your review on social media, Google reviews or review sites such as TrustPilot – it’ll mean a lot!
Buy a gift card
Once the lockdowns have been lifted, you’ll be back to your usual routine, shopping at your local small businesses, so by buying a gift card you can pay for products or services in advance. By doing this, you can help to support small businesses even whilst their store is closed.
Social proof
When your lovely new products land on your doorstep, take a photo. Share a photo of you using their product, and show the world how much you love it. This is a great way to support small businesses, as well as making them smile at seeing their product in the hands of their customers.
