JAIPUR: A group of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday detained an Executive Scientist plus a retired executive scientist of Public Works Department (PWD) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs . 26 lakh.
The retired executive scientist took the paychecks purportedly on behalf of the executive scientist from the complainant instead of clearing his invoices linked to the building of homes for Rajasthan Armed Constabulary in Bharatpur.
Based on ACB government, the complainant, who’s a private builder, accused that the executive scientist Ashok Kumar Verma was demanding a substantial quantity of bribe instead of clearing the invoices. “Verma is on deputation with that the Police Housing Corporation that functions to create quarters and buildings for authorities and sits in police headquarters. Following the criticism, we confirmed it and put a snare,” said Dinesh M N, Inspector General of Police, ACB, stated.
Based on ACB officials, the accused had accepted a bribe of Rs 60,000 before, but they had been demanding to get a bribe of Rs . 26 lakh. “The complainant was fed up and he approached us narrated his predicament. Thus, after confirmation of his criticism, a trap was set and the officers were captured red-handed for accepting the bribe,” he further added.
According to the strategy, the complainant using the bribe money seen a home in Jhotwata area. “We arrested G S Chahar, a retired assistant engineer of PWD who had been taking bribe on behalf of the executive scientist. Afterward the arrest of Verma was likewise made,” explained Chanchal Mishra, added SP, ACB.
The ACB group also spanned other areas that appeal to both the accused. “It had been discovered that some homes were assembled at Bharatpur which were intended for police use. A private contractor has been building these homes. These officers weren’t clearing his impending bills and were requesting paychecks,” said a senior officer.
