1.You prioritize quantity over quality
A lot of business focuses only on content creation. Unfortunately, content creation and content marketing are two different elements. So, posting a content with valuable content is worth much more than posting daily with less or no quality information.
Tip: Update your old post with some new updates and news. Keep the new content fresh and unique. Give the readers something that would interest them. So focus on quality content rather than only quantity.
2.Stick to just one medium
I completely agree that one should master on Medium before you tackle an other medium. But, you shouldn’t get stuck to just one forever. Try to explore various other forms of post too. Readers may find it really boring when you follow only one type of content throughout. There are literally dozens of mediums like audio, video, infographics etc.
Tip : You need to understand that not all readers are same. Some prefer reading, some like watching, stats etc. So if you are stuck with one medium, you’re missing on some huge potential. DIverrsy your content to those different types of learners: like reading, listening , visual learners etc.

If you sound too robotic or like an insincere and corporate your readers or customers will have absolutely no interest in it. Include words which humanize your content.
Tip: Use the art of story telling to woo your readers. People like stories, try to engage with your customers. Think you are the customer and what would impress you the most. Build landing pages whose CTA button they can’t help but click.
4.Not knowing what’s working
Doing something and not measuring it, is as good as doing nothing. This is the biggest mistakes is not measuring what’s working. You should know what is performing best and what is not.
Tip: Use tools and tracking analysis to understand what is effective and make changes as and when required.
4.Not promoting your content
Ok, so you are done writing, what do you do next? Are you impression that Audience might discover it by themselves? That’s how how it works. And, even if you decide to promote your content, where would you do that?You need to promote your piece of writing to the audience who wants to read it and will like it too. Putting efforts in just knowing what people may like and you are done should not be the case. You need to publish and promote your content on a big platform where you have your target audience.
Tip: The promotion of your content will, of course depend on the goals you’ve set. However the easiest way to reach a wide audience is social media. secondly, figure out whats working and create a worthy content.
5.Your audience wants mangoes yet all you give them are oranges.
In point number 2 ,I have explained to use various medium and not just stick to one. Experiment with the content, understand what they like the most and most as per their likes. Know what your audience wants and deliver them the same.
Tip : The purpose of content marketing is to deliver your customers content they want to read not something that satisfies your writing fetish. So, give them what they want
