Indian Railways To Run 800 Special Trains With Fare Of Just Rs 5 During Kumbh Mela 2019

Here is a good news for the devotees planning to Kumbh Mela 2019 as the Indian Railways has come with some special trains with a nominal fare of Rs 5 for travel during the Mela.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal revealed that the government has decided to remove the fair surcharge. During the Mela times, Travellers from across the country and even outside India can enjoy a railway journey for a price of just Rs 5.

The minister says that to promote tourism and religious beliefs of pilgrims the Central government has decided to remove the fair surcharge being imposed by the Railways. The move will provide a great relief to passengers planning to visit Kumbh Mela.

The Minister was also releasing the banner with PM Narendra Modi’s image advertising the train fares for Kumbh Mela 2019. He announced that the cheapest train tickets for the express and mail trains have been tagged just at Rs 5.

Tickets for sleeper coaches in regular, mail as well as express trains have been fixed at Rs 10 whereas fares for AC chair car and AC three tier will begin at Rs 20. AC Second tier train tickets will be at Rs 30. But the ticket for first class AC tickets has been fixed at Rs 40.

The Ardh Kumbh in Prayagraj to commence from January 2019. To help the tourists and pilgrims the Uttar Pradesh government has recently launched a one-stop travel solution portal.

Similarly, round 800 special trains will run during the Kumbh Mela from various stations of Allahabad district during the Kumbh Mela times. Besides that, the regular trains will also run sides by side operated by the North Central Railway (NCR).

Besides that railways has also planning to run four to five special trains for carrying 5,000 ‘Pravasi Bhartiyas’ (NRI) from Allahabad to New Delhi. They will go to Varanasi to participate in the ‘Pravasi Bhartiya Divas’ and also go to Allahabad to take a dip in the Holy water of Ganges during the Kumbh Mela.

During the Mela, the railway is gearing up to handle around 33-35 lakh pilgrims to the holy city during the six days of the holy bath
Railway also launched a mobile application titled ‘Rail Kumbh Seva Mobile App’ that will provide valuable and critical information to the devotees, visitors and tourists and other passengers who will be visiting the Allahabad during the Mela period.
