Noted filmmaker Prakash Jha, is planning to direct a biopic on Vashishtha Narayan Singh– noted Indian mathematician whom he considers as nation’s treasure.
Jha is very euphoric about his new project and in a statement, he said that Dr Vashishtha Narayan Singh is the brilliant mathematician from Bihar and his life is very inspiring and he would love to direct a biopic on him. The cast of the movies is yet to be decided.
As per record, Singh was born in 1942 in a remote village in Bhojpur district of Bihar. After his graduation from Patna Science College, he was awarded a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, US, in 1969. Singh came to prominence when he challenged the relative theory of Albert Einstein.
After his PhD, Singh worked on space theory at Nasa but he returned back to India in 1973 from the USA and started teaching at prominent institutions.

In 1974 he got married but after few years of his marriage, Singh suffered from schizophrenia. Later on, his wife parted ways due to his illness. Singh went missing for a few years and faced many hardships. With old age and poverty, he is languishing uncared and unknown from the public view.
Director Vikas Bahl is also making a biopic, on a Bihar math wizard Anand Kumar better known as the founder of Super 30. In the movie, Hrithik Roshan is playing the role of Anand Kumar.
The film is being produced by Vinay Sinha and his daughter Priti Sinha. Vinay’s daughter Priti made the announcement in Patna on Friday. It would take one and a half year to complete the movie.
The national award-winning director Prakash Jha has made some of the very thought-provoking movies like Aarakshan, Jai Gangaajal, Raajneeti, Gangaajal, Satyagraha, and Apaharan.
