The photograph shows Aurangzeb seated against a tree with the state of his clothes giving an impression that he was subjected to rough treatment before he was killed. He is looking straight into the camera, with no hint of fear on his face.

Aurangzeb of the 44 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) Camp Shadimarg was abducted on Thursday morning. The report of the abduction surfaced after a pharmacist complained to the police that an Army jawan who had taken a lift from him had been seized by masked men who had stopped the vehicle.
Aurangzeb, who was unarmed at the time, was on his way home having been granted leave to celebrate Eid. He had been the ‘buddy’ of Major Rohit Shukla who had killed dreaded terrorist Sameer Tiger. His bullet-ridden body was recovered at the Gusoo village in Pulwama on Thursday night.

Aurangzeb’s father, himself an Army veteran, has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to avenge his son’s murder within 72 hours.
“I give PM Narendra Modi 72 hours to avenge the death or else we are ready to take revenge on our own,” he said.
Aurangzeb’s father also blamed the politicians for the bloodshed.
“The politicians are killing the world. They should be driven out of Kashmir. Terrorists should be eliminated from Kashmir,” he said.
The news of Aurangzeb’s killing came on the same day veteran Kashmiri journalist Shujaat Bukhari was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Valley. Union home minister Rajnath Singh is deliberating whether to extend or call off the Ramzan ceasefire that is due to end on Friday.
