Twists and turns are certainly making the Karnataka Political situation a bit tricky one. The JD(S) and Congress are likely to approach the Governor with a letter of support to put forward their demand to form a government in the state. This is definitely going to change the political dynamics of the state and also influence the national perspective.
Prior to the election, all the political Parties opted to fight separately and there was never any dialogue regarding possible coalition. Now that Congress has lost ground in the state, the century-old political outfit is exploring all possibilities to remain in power. Thus it comes as no surprise that they are desperate for an alliance with the JD(S).
From BJP’s perspective, this is indeed a tricky scenario as the party is well aware of horse trading. There is no denying the fact that JD(S) has got anti-incumbent and votes too. Thus JD(S) MLAs are also aware of the backlash they are going to receive from the supporters.
In that aspect, it remains to be seen whether are also exploring the possibility of an alliance with the saffron outfit. Often it is seen that regional parties fail to act together or witness rebellion whenever a situation like this arrives. Let’s not forget that former prime minister HD Devegowda has amicable relation with PM Narendra Modi.
As of now the only acceptable formula for Congress is to opt for a coalition government with Kumaraswamy as the Chief Minister. It looks much easier on paper as all parties are aware that such a coalition can have an adverse impact on the political base of the parties in the state. Thus it remains to be seen what Amit Shah, the political mastermind of BJP comes up with to find a solution to the Karnataka stalemate.
Let’s see who’s the winner of this India’s Biggest Political Selling Festival. And hope the good governance will lead Karnataka.
