Finally, CBI has acted on the Unnao Rape case. The incident involving rape of a 17-year-old minor has already embarrassed UP and the country as a whole. The victim’s father was thrashed in the police custody for protesting against and was allegedly killed by the police personnel. In the early hours of the day, the BJP MLA was nabbed from his residence in Lucknow.
This action was much needed and the Allahabad High Court prompted the Yogi Adityanath to act upon the case and nab the culprits without any delay. Sengar has been taken to the CBI headquarters in Hazratganj in Lucknow.
CBI Detains BJP MLA for Questioning:
As of now, the culprit has three cases against his name, which include alleged rape of the woman, the custodial death of her father, counter-assault on the MLA’s aides. The accused MLA has been charged under Section 323,504,506 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 and 25 under the Arms Act.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath vows ‘zero tolerance on crime’:
No doubt, the UP Government included the cases only after Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted under Additional Director General of Police (Lucknow zone) Rajeev Krishna, submitted its report to the government. Apart from that, six policemen who were suspended earlier, have been taken into custody by the CBI.
Nation shamed in Kathua and Unnao:
Both the incidents in Unnao and Kathua have been detrimental to BJP’s image. In both UP and Kashmir, BJP is in the state government and in both the cases involvement of BJP members is as clear as daylight. PM Modi is well aware of the impact of the heinous crimes. Already, Congress President Rahul Gandhi has opted for Candle march in Delhi.
CBI calls in Unnao DSP for questioning:
The horrible incidents of rape have been naturally politicized due to BJP’s involvement in it. Yogi Adityanath, who has been virtually chosen as the successor of Narendra Modi and the present CM of UP, remarked, “Investigation has been handed over to the CBI. I believe the CBI would have arrested the MLA also. Our government will not compromise on this.
