Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury has put up a motion for breach of privilege against Union minister Kiren Rijiju. She accused that RIjiju has shared a post on Facebook which insulted her by showing a clip of Ramayana along with the clip of Parliament proceedings where PM Narendra Modi joked about her laugh.

The video clip shared by Rijiju showed the character named ‘Shurpanaka’ laughing loudly and it was continued by the clip which showed Renuka Chowdhary laughing loudly in the background while PM Modi was speaking in the Rajya Sabha. The Chairman of Rajya Sabha Venkaiah Naidu could be seen asking her to maintain proper behaviour and stop laughing like that.

He stated that he won’t tolerate such unruly behaviour in the house. It was then that the PM Modi took a dig at Renuka Chowdhary saying that after Ramayan, he is listening to such laugh after so many years.

Renuka Chowdhury said that it was highly objectionable. The Prime Minister didn’t take out any name from Ramayan, however, it was predictable. Rijiju has deleted the video post from his facebook account. His account on Twitter has the video, but one without the Ramayan scene. While Congress condemned the insult of their woman MP, BJP said that it was she who insulted the PM by laughing while he was delivering a speech.
