Two most wanted gangsters were killed by the Punjab Police in a brave encounter. The Punjab Police special group Organised Crime Control Unit (OCCU) has undertaken this operation and eliminated one of the most wanted gangsters in Punjab Vicky Gounder and his associate Prema Lahoria. The encounter took place in a village of Sri Ganganagar district.
Police have received information that the dreaded gangsters have taken refuge in a ‘dhani’ (Conglomeration of houses) near Pakki Village in Rajasthan, 50 km away from the Punjab border. The officials of OCCU of Punjab Police rounded up the Dhani. The gangsters opened fire on the Police and led to a brief fire exchange. The two gangsters were shot dead and another unidentified man was injured.
Two police officials are said to be injured in this encounter. Sub-Inspector Baljinder Singh and ASI Kirpal Singh were wounded during the shootout. The mission was led by AIG Gurmeet Chauhan.
Vicky Gounder was shot when he was firing at the police near the gate and Prema Lahoria was shot as he was climbing the compound wall of the Dhani. Chief Minister of Punjab Amarinder Singh posted a tweet on social media appreciating the elimination of gangsters by Punjab Police.
