A massive Fire broke out at the Navrang studio which is inside the Todi Mill compound in Lower Parel area of South Mumbai. This incident comes within three weeks of a fire accident in Kamala Mills compound which is just few hundred meters away from the Navrang studio. 24 people were killed in the fire accident that took place in Kamala Mills on December 27.
Navrang studio is located in the fourth floor of an industrial complex. It was in a dilapidated condition and was unoccupied. The fire has spread in part of the studio in the wee hours of Friday. Eight fire engines and firefighters rushed to the spot when the locals informed them. The fire was put out in few hours. There were no casualties as the building was unoccupied. However, one firefighter suffered mild injuries during the operation.
The chief of fire brigade PS Rahangdale said that the fire was confined to the studio which is located in the fourth floor of a dilapated building. He said that the fire engines and rescue teams have moved immediately and controlled the situation within few hours. He said that one fireman received minor injuries.
