Hardik Patel’s rally and the overwhelming response was indeed enough to create doubt about the constituency. But Vijay Rupani won by a handsome margin of 55,000 votes which is more than double of the margin what he got last time. No doubt, Vijay Rupani has silently become the face of BJP against Patidar agitation and impossible demands of reservation.

In another way, it can be said that Vijay Rupani has been categorical in helping out BJP to win all four seats in Rajkot and thus making up for the loses committed in Saurashtra. Looking back at his political career, Vijay Rupani has been BJP’s four-time Gujarat unit general secretary. Being a hardcore RSS Pracharak since 1980, he was even jailed during an emergency. in 1987 he entered the domain of electoral politics.

Having a leader like him who has a considerable grip on the organizational stature is indeed a great boon to any political outfit. As an administrator too, he has been a true example of what ‘rajdharma’ means. His contribution in Gujarat floor relief is still remembered and has been a true spirited leader, keeping a good rapport with Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel. No doubt, Vijay Rupani is indeed a sensible choice for BJP considering the fact that the party faces stiff opposition from Congress and other parties in the state.
