In an interesting observation, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has accused the administration of Punjab province of gross negligence towards the Hindu community. Categorically the Court has pointed out that it is indeed shocking that the Hindu Temples don’t have idols.
While listening to a hearing concerning reasons for a pond drying up at the famous Katas Raj Temple in Chakwal the top court remarked,”What impression of Pakistan would they have if they do not find idols in the temple.”
No doubt, this is indeed something very different in an Islamic country like Pakistan where religious tolerance is practically absent and forceful conversion is a reality. The sacred pond is drying up because of groundwater depletion.
Anyhow, this whole episode is significant as inhuman blasphemy laws have been rampant in Pakistan and Hindus have been transformed to a single digit minority. One can definitely hope that a balanced Pakistan can help to ease the situation in the Indian subcontinent.
