Is The Congress Party Defaming India On Rafale Deal?

Time and again, it has been observed that Congress Party can stoop down to any level to be in power. This time around, they have gone leaps and bounds to criticise the Modi government on Rafale deal. But, to their great disappointment, the French government has come forward with a fitting reply. The French Officials have categorically mentioned that the decision to buy Rafale Fighter Jet is completely based on their outstanding performance and competitive price.

Side by side, the whole deal has been completed in a transparent process. They have officially remarked,”The jet was selected after full compliance with procedures, very unusual in this kind of contracts.” The funniest part of the whole criticism from the Congress Party is, the UPA government only cleared the Rafale deal. There was confusion in between when the Dassault refused to certify the aircraft that were to be manufactured by Indian organization HAL.

When Narendra Modi came into power, he cleared the deadlock in a bid to strengthen India’s aerial supremacy, agreeing on 36 plants instead of 126. No compromise in technology has been done to safeguard India’s aerial defence. Previously the Congress Party even went on saying that the Rafale deal will benefit Reliance but it was only a baseless dig as the French officials have clarified on their stance and the decision by the Indian government.

In the UPA regime, Indian Army became anaemic as Defence Minister AK Anthony was not keen on bolstering India’s defence with state of the art weapons with new technology. Narendra Modi has been well aware of the situation and has gauged the importance of infusing new technologies in Defence as well. The Congress Party, which has never clearly stated the role of Rajiv Gandhi and his family in Bofors deal, has been hell-bent on criticising Narendra Modi. Thus it won’t be an exaggeration to say that the Congress Party is ultimately defaming India with such baseless criticism.
