Three people have been Arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police for manufacturing a psychoactive Drug named methamphetamine or Crystal Meth in short. Around 438 kilograms of Pseudoephedrine was found with them. It is the base chemical which is used to produce the drug Crystal Meth. The value of the seized stock would be around 50 crores in the international market. One among the three arrested is identified as Sum Mang, a Myanmar national. The other two are Sunil Goyal alias Mukesh from Ghaziabad and Sumit from Vasant Kunj. The drug racket is said to be working between Delhi, Northeastern states, and Myanmar. The ‘Super labs’ were set up in Myanmar to manufacture Meth.
A special team comprising inspectors Kailash Bisht, Ravinder Tyagi and Pramod Chauhan were tracking drug cartels function in Delhi NCR. A tip-off was received about Sumit, who was a key player in the racket. He has traced him to New Delhi railway station where he went to book the drug parcels. Sumit was arrested with 340 kgs of drugs. He disclosed the Myanmar links. Sum Mang and Mukesh were arrested based on the information given by Sumit.
Meth has become a drug in demand as the price is cheaper than the popular drug cocaine. Further, Meth is said to give better and more intense high, due to which there was a huge demand for the same.
