The Gambit movie may finally be moving forward again.
After going through a rotation of directors, it seems the Gambit solo movie is finally gaining some traction again. The one thing that has never changed is Channing Tatum in the lead role, but now it seems we may know who he will be playing off of. According to a report from Variety, Lizzy Caplan is close to signing on for the lead female role, but who the character will be is still a mystery.
When Rupert Wyatt was attached as the director around two years ago, Lea Seydoux (Blue Is the Warmest Color) was attached to play Belladonna Bourdeaux, a member of the Assassin’s Guild and Gambit’s love interest. Since then it’s known that the script has changed, and with Gore Verbinski coming in it’s completely unknown if Belladonna is still in the story.
Caplan is an accomplished actress, so whomever she may be playing I’m good with it.
Now if we could actually get this film in front of some cameras…
