The upcoming Gilmore Girls revival on Netflix has added more of the original cast, including a personal favorite.
When the original announcement of Gilmore Girls: Seasons came out (no, the name is still not official), only six original cast members were announced. Since then three more have joined in the form of Yanic Truesdale (Michel), Matt Czuchry (Logan) and the latest (and a personal fave) Liza Weil (Paris). Like many people I began the series with a dislike for Paris, but as the series went on she became one of the richest characters outside of the core four, and one I enjoyed watching develop. I’m very curious to see where the series will say she has ended up in life.
So the full list of returning cast now stands at:
- Lauren Graham – Lorelai
- Alexis Bledel – Rory
- Kelly Bishop – Emily
- Scott Patterson – Luke
- Matt Czuchry – Logan
- Yanic Truesdale – Michel
- Sean Gunn – Kirk
- Keiko Agena – Lane
- Liza Weil – Paris
Still missing is Melissa McCarthy (Sookie). The Palladinos have said they would love to see her on the show, but she is claiming to have not yet been asked. It’s unclear what is happening there, but either way I’m still happy with who we have back so far.
Filming began last Tuesday and as of Friday Truesdale posted a selfie with Graham that shows the Dragonfly Inn is still in business.

No word from Netflix as of yet to when these four new episodes will air, but as it seems easy to assume there won’t be a need for much post production work I’m going to make a guess that we could see them as soon as this fall, and at the latest early next winter.
… Mock me all you want, I’m super excited we’re getting more Gilmore Girls.
