24:Legacy finds its male lead

24:Legacy has found its new Male Lead that will replace Jack Bauer.

Fox recently announced that the 24 series will carry on as 24:Legacy. The new series will not feature Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer, but instead a new hero will be introduced named Eric Carter. It was announced that the network was searching for an African American to take on the role and they have found him in the form of Corey Hawkins.

While Hawkins is not a household name, he has appeared on The Walking Dead and recently portrayed Dr. Dre in Straight Outta Compton.

The new series will center on Carter and his return to the U.S. after a stint as an Army Ranger. After returning to his wife Nicole in their home in Virginia, Carter will be forced back into action as his past catches up with him and he has to seek the help of CTU to stop what would be the biggest terrorist attacks ever on U.S. soil.

Currently the show is going to go to pilot and no series order has been placed as of yet, but something tells me we will see this pop up on the fall schedule when they’re announced in May.
