blogpost of the month – from travelista…

many of you are, no doubt, familiar with this particular blog post, as the image is all over Pinterest.  the article is actually a list of great tips on Packing light, but the illustration that accompanies it is one of my all-time favourite wardrobe posts.  it’s been around for a long time, so it’s old, but it’s good…

travelista manages to create what is, in my eyes at least, an almost flawless, multi-season, Minimalist wardrobe that touches on many of the Classic features of what we consider ‘French’ dressing: the little black dress, the black blazer, the marinière, and also adds in hints of personality with leapard accessories, for example, and advice on using colour.

a replication of this minimalist packing list will serve you well for a visit to Paris, or anywhere in France, in everything but the height of summer and the depths of winter.  sadly, the original post dates from 2011, so pretty much all of the clothing is no longer available, but it does illustrate how classics don’t look dated, and it is easy to find similar items (check out my post on ten French classics and how to wear them for more tips on shopping and styling).

although she hasn’t posted in a while, travelista’s blog has a host of great ideas for travel and for capsule wardrobes, so hopefully she’ll be back soon…
