In the past, it used to be freedom of speech and freedom of ideas. People were encouraged to share their own views.

Now it's cancel culture. People who are not favoured by the establishment are shut down and cancelled.

People are only allowed to see from one dimension. This is not good as many issues are complex and you need to examine it from many perspective. 

In the case of Russia and Ukraine, Trump was against Russia supplying huge amount of gas to German as it would give Russia too much leverage. He was called nasty names by German. His views were largely ignored by the media.

The project goes ahead under Biden and now you can see German, the strongest European nation, has lost the will to fight as they are dependent on Russia for cheap gas. Trump was right all along.
