Ticket To Nostalgia
Am I the only one like this? Does everyone feel the same? But whom to ask? Forget it! I don’t even feel normal anymore. The very second day after that, something hit my mailbox – an invite from my school buddies for a re-union.
Decided to attend, as I had nothing to lose, after all what could mend a broken heart better than to encounter my past? If only that can take me back in time, turn the clock backwards, maybe that’s the therapy I needed.
The day finally arrived, a couple of them unchanged, most of those who embraced the change. OK, I see no point in being too sweet, too sweet sounds satanic. But honestly WE were all changed! It wasn’t hard to recognize each other, who grew along with us for 15 years, those immature ones were now all mature, exchanging firm handshakes. What are they now? Hmmmm….. Something not falling into place! And then, WE, the very mistakes of nature gathered at one point, turned the resort we stayed into Devils Paradise for those days, the resort employees would have repented for the mistake they committed by letting us in.
Guys once fought with us, those who knelt down outside the class, those who got bashed and slashed by teachers at school and all those who never did their home-works, were now warning their kids to behave. It was fun to watch that TRANSITION. Hmmmm….. TRANSITION, it was in a while again. After a very long discussion of ‘Wonder, how did we even pass?’ followed by pranks we played and ‘Single-and Hot or Married-or-Not’, and then there were giggles, giggles led to laughter, laughter to yelling, to shoving each other, partying wild & crazy all this happened in the presence of their kids who were shocked to see them act like that, with a stare that said “Come on, GROW UP!”
Those who never did mind, those who hardly noticed themselves aging backwards, those who were drunk & intoxicated and hardly knew what was happening, GOD! Was that a Havoc or Pandemonium? Together it was GREAT!
Whatever that was, it did look sweet. If only you could just revisit your childhood once, you would know how young your HEART is. A beat you ignore to hear, every time your heart pounds.
I now dream of a boy running behind a KITE with his friends, who once hated but now misses his classroom benches that he scribbled his name on.
MORAL: Life CAN be SIMPLE, though you are trying to solve a complex SUDOKU, WHILE YOU ARE AT OFFICE.
