Toad Dreams

Toad has been dreaming a lot lately and even remembering some of his dreams, which is unusual for him. Maybe it is due to the Aricep he has been taking for the past couple of weeks. I woke him to take his nightly meds, including the Aricep, and he said he was dreaming that he was flying a plane. He said it was the first time he's flown a plane since he got out of the air force in 1968, and that it was an emotional dream. Last night he said he dreamed all night that he was working, shoveling snow and doing other manual labor, things he does not do anymore in real life.

It's been an uneventful day, still cold outside and for much of the day cold inside because even the firewood balked at staying hot. I was up last night writing up notes from the Skype visit with my grandsons and inserting captures until 3:30am, and then read until 5:00am this morning, all the while watching to see that the woodstove didn't go out. I woke at 11:30am still tired and feeling cold and miserable. While Toad worked to get the stove to throw some heat I snuggled with our cat Tommy on the sofa and dozed. And then, the usual--make sure Toad takes his morning and evening meds, feed the cats, cook for the chickens, cook for us, make sure cat litters are cleaned, practice French, do the daily jigsaw puzzle online, etc. Later, feeling too tired and jittery to do much else, I chose another jigsaw puzzle from the archives, a nautilus, and worked on it on and off while monkeying online reading blogs. It was quite a challenge.

I did make us a nice meal today--grilled chicken breast with stuffing, whole kernel corn, and sauteed tomatoes. It was nice having leftovers to eat this evening.

My daughter Skyped twice today, in the early afternoon for a short visit and later in the evening for a longer visit. I love seeing her and the boys and listening to the boys talk and sing. The first visit was very short so I have no notes for it, just a couple of captures. I took notes and several captures during the second visit but am too beat to write them up tonight.

Heading to bed now after feeding poor old Tommy for the third time today. Too tired to read.
