Got a busy day coming up, full of activities, Deadlines and schedules? The best advices would be what your mother might tell you, God bless her: prepare the night before! This is your key to starting on target, and staying on target, the next day.
It spans from school to senior centers: plan Ahead. The failure to plan is to plan to fail.
Consider homework. You do it the night before. Smart students don’t wait till the last minute, trying to finish it on the bus or in homeroom.
Same as we move into the next phases of life.
Have guests coming? Prep the home or menu ahead of time. Slice, dice, bake and rearrange the furniture the night before. You’ll be cool, calm and collected to welcome anyone and everyone.
Have a big meeting looming? Don’t wait until the day of the presentation and then have to apologize that the slides are not cooperating on the powerpoint. Believe me, I’ve seen this way too many times when it comes to deadlines.
By waiting to prepare, it’s almost as though we believe that we’ll never measure up if we give it our best. So we give it not-so-much effort and then inwardly tell ourselves that, had we really tried, things would have been better….
Give it your best— ahead of time— and then keep giving. You’ll be amazed how much you’ll be able to accomplish… and with excellence.
