It’s the craziest thing. The anomaly continues. The more I Turn down business, the more clients clamor for my attention.
Sometimes, I believe I’m being Saved from disaster by the ability to say “No”. It just happened in the last hour. Two different groups hoped that I would consult with them during the same time period. Not knowing that another client would pop up within five minutes, I accepted the job with the first group, since I had the time and availability.
Turns out it would be less stressful than with the second one, but I did not know that the second group would appear on the horizon at that time. The first would also be less lucrative. Then came the second bigger proposal / offer, less than five minutes after I had accepted the first.
I kept my word and turned down the second.
And then, out of possibly morbid curiosity, I researched the second group. Turns out it was a group that I had no business doing anything with. They were toxic and I could have been right in the middle of a big mess-!
Saved. Thank you, Lord!
Which brings us to today’s motto:
“The two most important requirements for major success are: first, being in the right place at the right time, and second, doing something about it.” ~Ray Kroc
Thank you, Mr. McDonalds. If I had not been diligent to respond quickly to Client #1, I most certainly would have accepted Client #2. A bigger deal, more money. Yet online, numerous other consultants reported problems working with them….
I was saved from disaster.
Has that ever happened to you? You didn’t even know it, however, things could have turned out so much worse. But they didn’t.
Saved. And so thankful.
Make it an outstanding Monday, everyone! Sometimes, things happen for a reason.
