Thoughts on : Persuasion, Thanks, and Writing

What is it about Writing that makes it so easy and yet so difficult at the same time.

I, myself have a writing love/hate relationship. I love to do it but it is sometimes hard to match what I am trying to say and what ends up getting put on Paper or typed up on my blog posts. Sometimes feelings are so strong that I can’t always find the right words to explain what the message is that I am trying to get across. When we match the words we write closely to the feeling behind them then I think we start to become better writers. On the other hand, trying to force writing will make the writer lose what it is they are trying to really get across to their readers. I notice this most when I have to write assignments or papers for my classes. I realize later that I could have worded something better to make more sense or just used a few different words in a sentence to make it flow better. I noticed last night while writing my paper on persuasion and how it relates to marketing that I was writing pretty quickly which surprised me because I don’t feel very interested or even good at either of those two things. I could never be a salesperson. It just wouldn’t work for me. I have to really believe in something completely to even be able to tell someone else about it and much less persuade them into buying it themselves. Then it hit me I was able to write so quickly because I believed that I could sell the (fake product) that my assignment was asking me to do. I knew that it was just an assignment and that was I wasn’t on the spot to actually sell it. It took the pressure off and so I got done pretty quickly with it. I also realized I do this quite often only I am selling me. People ask me for advice and opinions on different things pretty often. I either tell them I just don’t know or I use what I know and most times it helps. It’s funny to think about how we can give advice to others but it is harder to do it for ourselves. I think this happens to a lot of people. When we are too close to a situation or problem its harder to see the right solution or way to solve it. This is the reason we need friends and family who support us and empower us every day. They can see us from a whole different perspective than we can. They can and should be there for us when we need them to be to intervene when we need help or about to make the wrong decision(s) or choices. Everyone you meet has been through something and sometimes they may have a solution to a problem you are now facing. This is why it’s so important to make sure the people we keep around us are genuinely looking out for us and have our best interests at heart. They are the ones who influence and persuade us the most in our lives. SO be very picky what company you keep and get rid of the ones who aren’t truly there for you or rooting for your successes. Treat the ones who care the most with the utmost respect and love.

I thank my family and friends today for being there for me when I need them most and for all the help they have given me in my hard times.

What are you thankful for?
