So Much To Tell You

Well....life is just continuing to roll along over here.  I know everyone's life is crazy.  I definitely don't have a corner on that market.  But seriously....does it ever slow down??  Goodness.  I just hang on for the ride!

I have LOTS to share with you today.  In the past two months, there have been so many things going on in our family.  Here is the run down...

PNW

Steve and I took another trip to the Pacific Northwest at the beginning of August.  You know it is one of our favorite places and we always have the best time there.  I have blogged about it many times...

And this year we had just as much fun as always!  We did lots of the same things that we usually do, like go to Cannon Beach...

We also visited Mt. Ranier.  We had never done that before, and it was so pretty!  We drove up to the top where the temperature was in the 40s!  We stopped at a beautiful lodge and had dinner and sat by the fire.  It was so nice!

Then we headed on to Vancouver, which is one of my favorite cities!  We spent every day hanging out outside just taking in all the beautiful scenery there.

One day we rented bikes and had a lot of fun biking around the city.

August 17th was our 30th wedding anniversary, so we celebrated a little early with a really nice dinner out!

When we left Vancouver, we headed to Seattle. We did all the usual touristy stuff like Pike's Place Market.  But we also visited the famous Seattle Gum Wall....

...and the Dale Chihuly Museum, which was absolutely amazing!  He is a glass blower that does the most gorgeous work!

The first time I had ever seen any of his work was on the ceiling of the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.  I became an instant fan!

School

As soon as we got back from our trip, it was time for school to start.  I was excited about that!  I have really missed it.  It was fun seeing all my friends and getting my room ready for all my cute third graders!

30th Anniversary

We were so busy on our anniversary that we barely had time to think about it.  But Steve got me 3 dozen roses, which was so sweet!  And we went out to dinner.  I sure am thankful for all the ups and downs we have shared together through the years!  Marriage really is a gift.  We just stood outside on the sidewalk after work that day and got Lindy to take our picture so we would remember what we looked like after being married for thirty years! :)

Mark Left For Jordan

At the end of August, Mark came home for a few weeks before he left for Jordan.  It was so much fun getting to see him.  We tried to do as much as we could with him while he was here....like going bowling together.

And the night before he left we took him out to dinner at his favorite restaurant, Cajun Yard Dog.

I miss him so much, but I know he is having a great time there.  We Face Time as much as we can and I will get to see him at Christmas.  I have a countdown app on my phone where I keep track of how many days it is until he gets home.  It was so hard saying goodbye.  I cried.  But I want him to go out there and make all his dreams come true!  Being a mom is rough sometimes.

Laura and Lindy's Birthday

Laura and Lindy turned 24 on August 24th!

Laura wasn't here, but we got to celebrate with Lindy.  She wanted to go out to dinner at Maggiano's, so that's what we did!

LINDY GOT ENGAGED!

After six years together, these two finally made it official!!

I couldn't be happier for them!  This past year has been so hard, but there is so much happiness ahead for them.  I am so thankful that they are finally getting to start this new chapter of their lives!

Sean took Lindy out to dinner last Friday night and asked Ashley and me if we would set everything up for him while they were gone.  We set up his back porch with flowers, candles, champagne, & dessert.  Then we lit all the candles and left.  Lindy was SO surprised when she got there.  She had no idea it was coming, but she was so happy and excited!

The next morning, Laura flew in from Boston to surprise Lindy.  We met for brunch and when Lindy walked in, Laura was sitting there!  They had a fun weekend together making all kinds of wedding plans.

Lindy and Sean have set the date for March 12th, so we are going to be busy these next few months!

Meanwhile, Laura has a serious boyfriend now too.

She blogged about their sweet love story here.  His name is Todd, and she is bringing him home to meet us in a few weeks, so we are looking forward to that!

And while all of this has been happening, so has the usual cuteness....

And my dad just got back from a ten day trip with one of his best friends of 40 years..  They did lots of fun things, but one of the most fun things they did was getting to see the Greenbay Packers play the Seattle Seahawks at Lambeau Field.  I am so happy for him that he had such a fun time!

So...that is all the things I had to tell you!  As you can see...life never slows down around here.  I can't believe it is fall now and the holidays are coming soon.  I have so many things going on between now and Christmas.  But it is all good.  I am so blessed.  I hope you are enjoying these cooler days and this wonderful time of year!
