Perdue Farms New Family Bundles

I'm so excited to have tried one of the first Perdue Farms direct-to-consumer boxes!

For 100 years, the company has worked with small family farmers to raise animals with care. I was so glad to learn this along with the fact that Perdue Farms is passionate about farming, land preservation and healthy and nutritious food.

This new delivery program is their latest step to provide their Antibiotic Free (No Antibiotics Ever), Non-GMO, Ever, Certified Humane, GAP & more products to families across the U.S.

What's in the Family Bundle?

This particular box is the “Family Bundle (Medium),” which is now available for purchase online for the first time. It is priced at $64.99, which is a 17% bundle discount vs. purchasing all products individually. All items in this pack are meant to feed and please the entire family no matter what the meal occasion!

This bundle includes:
  • COLEMAN NATURAL® Uncured Hickory Smoked Bacon
  • PERDUE ® Panko Breaded Dino Nuggets
  • PERDUE ® Harvestland ® Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast Tenderloins, Individually Wrapped
  • Niman Ranch Uncured Bacon Wrapped With Rosemary Pork Chop
  • Niman Ranch Uncured Pork Breakfast Sausage

Besides traditional boneless chicken tenderloins, which you can do so much with (see recipe below), I especially liked that there were also items that expanded my typical family meal choices. For example, I simply had to bake the yummy bacon-wrapped rosemary pork chops, add a side, and I looked like a gourmet cook ;)

Meanwhile, the Panko Breaded Dino Nuggets were, of course, an easy meal to whip up much to the delight of my kiddos.

Also, I hadn't realized all the other brands that are within Perdue Farms and was glad to discover them.

A Better For You Chicken, Raised with Care

You can also feel good to know that Perdue Harvestland chicken is hatched, raised and harvested from farms in the USA and fed an all-vegetarian diet with no animal by-products. No hormones or steroids added, no antibiotics ever.

Niman Ranch is also certified humane.

Sustainable Actions

You can feel extra good about this delivery program, knowing that Perdue Farms’ is taking the following steps to lessen their carbon footprint and protect our ecosystem:

For every bundle shipped, a donation is made to the Arbor Day Foundation, which is working to replant damaged areas of our nation’s forests. This donation will help reduce the carbon footprint required to ship our products to you.

Shipping boxes designed with sustainability in mind. Every box is made out of 100 percent recyclable cardboard and insulated with Green Cell Foam®. Green Cell Foam® is eco-friendly packaging and is biodegradable, compostable, and made from high-grade non-GMO cornstarch that is dissolvable in water.

You’ll receive a reusable and recyclable grocery bag with every purchase. You can use the bag next time you go to the store to avoid using paper or plastic.

A pollinator seed packet is also included in every box.  Food can't be produced without bees and butterflies, which help to make one out of every three bites of food we eat. Plant the seeds to create a robust pollinator habitat near your home! How cool is that?

Slow Cooker Chicken Tortillas

Three Ingredients:

  • 2 to 3 PERDUE ® Harvestland ® Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast Tenderloins
  • 24 oz jar of salsa (if using 2 breasts, you can save a quarter of the salsa for something else)
  • 1 packet of taco seasoning mix

Directions:

Add chicken breasts to the pot. Cover chicken with seasoning mix (front and back). Pour salsa over the cutlets until it's smothered and all you see is salsa. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Once ready, pull apart the meat with two forks into shredded chicken strips and serve burrito style, wrapped in tortillas with a side dish of beans, rice or green beans.

Tip: I cut the cleanup time in half too, by using slow cooker liners, which protects the pot from hard stains and can you simply throw it away after.
