Peak UK Chart Position: #10 in September 1993.
Wonder Stuff main man Miles Hunt turns the big 50 today. The current incarnation of the group recently had a number 38 album in “30 Goes Around The Sun” – back in March, exactly 30 years since their original inception.
There was a six-year hiatus between 1994 and 2000, but before their split back then, they had a pretty consistent run of top forty singles – four of which made the top ten (if you include their teaming up with Vic Reeves on the chart-topper “Dizzy”). “The Size Of A Cow” and “Welcome To The Cheap Seats” (together with this one, “On The Ropes”) complete the quartet.
Their website shows upcoming tour dates, plus details of their new single “For The Broken Hearted”. Here, though, is their Top of the Pops performance of “On The Ropes”.
